Default Desktop Redirector and BIS - 06-13-2008, 10:53 AM

We recently acquired a firm that uses Desktop Redirector for their Blackberries. As we have a BES, I haven't made myself very familiar with this, so have a question. Does Desktop Redirector use the BIS service in anyway? I see that there are going to be some BIS outages, and wasn't sure if they would be affected.

I'm trying to convince them to come over to the BES, but haven't gotten them to do it yet.

Thanks

Desktop Redirector syncs a BB on BIS with Outlook but this obviously depends on the host PC being switched on, so is not guaranteed 24/7.

As you already have a BES I would have thought it should be quite straightforward to convince your new colleagues of the amazing new vistas that would unfold if they shared your technology - sent items sync, meeting requests, backup etc, even if they wince at the thought of remote wipe.

If persuasion fails, I'd remind them who now owns their company!
