Exclamation Changed device on BIS but keep getting reminder - 06-23-2008, 06:13 PM

A while ago I lost my Blackberry
First phone I ever lost actually!

Anyway, it was an 8300 Curve and was setup on my BIS. After I lost the phone, I used an old 7290 while waiting for the insurance replacement to arrive, so I went in and changed the device, entering both PIN and IMEI

Any logins after that would say, "Your account is currently configured to use device with PIN xxxxxxx(7290 PIN).
Would you like to switch to the device with PIN xxxxxxx(8300 PIN)?"
I would click on No and continue.
Every subsequent login would ask the same question and again I would click no.

Then my 8310 replacement arrived and I went in and added *those* details (IMEI & PIN) and updated as normal. However, every time I log in, I am STILL getting the same question each time and I click NO, but on every return visit its there again!!!! Has anybody got an idea what the problem is here or how to sort it? I often changed devices over the last few years and never had this issue!

I am on wap and can't see, but what service are you using? Have you tried to hit yes on that.

I am using BIS with O2 Ireland
If I hit yes, I am accepting the old (8300) PIN number which is no longer on the account?

Yes but then change the PIN again, see if the prompts continue. Did you change it via the email setup or on a PC

Selected Yes
Then it logged in and said if I had not already done so, to register my device
Logged out
Logged back in (no warning message now!!)
Selected Change Device
Entered new PIN and IMEI again and saved
Said if I had not already done so, to register my device
Logged out
Logged back in and got
"Your account is currently configured to use device with PIN xxxxxxx(8310 PIN).
Would you like to switch to the device with PIN xxxxxxx(8300 PIN)?"

Its driving me nuts!
Thank God I dont have to log in too often!

Hi dude:

Had the same issue, call your carrier to update your IMEI in their billing system and then have them check their BIS Provisioning Tool, tell them to reset your PIN and IMEI to 0 (Zero) then register your device with the host routing table and then update your PIN and IMEI on you own BIS.

Hi. forgot to post back here
My network is O2 Ireland. They tried everything for me and couldn't get it sorted no matter how many times they removed the details and re-set it up again. They eventually passed it to RIM and RIM fixed it last Friday night. Woke on Saturday morning with new service books and HTML mail working and this BIS issue solved
