Wirelessly posted

I have my own exchange server for my small business and had only BIS via Verizon until now. I tried BB Unite but some aspects of the program make it very unusable for me. Therefore I am considering buying a BB Professional with 5 cals. However I have few questions.

1) Will the BB professional work with the $29 verizon bb plan (I guess it is called BB email and web) or do I have to buy the full $49 plan?

2) Will I still be able to use BIS and/or unite (for shared calendars)?

3) What is the latest version (4.1.4a is what I've seen) what is the upgrade policy?

4) Does it support html email yet in the current version? If no, does anybody know when it will support this and whether I will be able to upgrade for free if it is a minor upgrade (e.g. 4.5)?

Thanks.

BES does not work with a BIS data plan. You will be able to pass data (Internet access) but if you try to do an Enterprise Activation the RIM Relay system that RIM has with the carriers won't allow data to be transmitted between Blackberry and your BES.

If you use a BES plan BIS comes with it so you can access your personal email and use Unite.

From what I heard BES 5 is coming but I don't when..

HTML email for BES will be supported on BES 5 on devices that have 4.5 OS

HTML message support is included in the current version of BES (4.1.5) but it's disabled by default and not supported by RIM if enabled manually.

Full support will be in BES 4.1.6, scheduled to be released later this summer.
