Help with MDS settings

Hi

We are running 2 x BES 4.1.5 servers on Windows 2003 boxes. Exchange 2003SP2 is our messaging platform.

Our office internet access is via a proxy device, Proxy1.

I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with...

a) What exactly is MDS and how does it fit into how BB devices access the Internet (I've searched the internet but can't find a straightforward answer)...

b) Can the proxy settings used be configured only on a per-BES server basis

c) We use a Proxy Auto-Configuration File that is located on one of our servers. Is it possible to use this for BB devices that access the Internet?

d) In terms of MDS, is one of the BES's a main 'MDS Server', or how does this work?

Would be grateful for any pointers!

Thanks

Mobile Data Services. All devices on the BES can use this to route intenet traffic from the carrier ISP to the enterprise ISP. This can add all kinds of cool stuff, local google maps, enterprise messiging, software push functions....
