Hi,

I have an unlocked Blackberry Curve8300 and I'm unable to connect to the internet, I was able to access it though through GPRS from my old Nokia6820. Can someone help please ?

I'm using it with Airtel India (and have tried the options found on the net already of using APN as 'airtelgprs.com' and rebooting, which hasn't worked with BB (Vodafone) browser or Opera mini)

The error I get from BB browser is "Unable to open a PDP context to the following APN: blackberry.net" ... I'm on a postpaid plan from Airtel which offers web access thru GPRS on a pay-as-u-download basis .. can someone help please ? I'm new to the forum (and BB) and tried searching, reading FAQs before posting this, please let me know if I'm missing something basic here ..

Do you have THE BlackBerry Data Plan from Airtel?

No .. don't have a blackberry plan .. a regular voice plan with data access ..

any other suggestions please ? I read in another thread that some folks were able to access internet by upgrading the OS to 4.5.x .. will that help ? Should I try that ? I'm not able to connect thru the BB Browser too .. Hope upgrading not create any issues ..
