Default Free Browsing on latest models with sprint? - 12-07-2008, 05:00 AM

hey all. I'm a potential blackberry buyer (curve 8330). Before I buy, I need to know if it is possible to browse the web on the sprint network with a blackberry without having to pay $30/mo for a data plan. I don't need to browse fast, I just need to be able to access the internet every now and then.

I read some guides in these forums about using BES servers, but i'm not quite sure if sprint would still require me to purchase a data plan in order to access those BES servers(in which case, what's the point).

Currently, I have a razr hacked up to dial into a proxy server via WAP. this means i get (slow) free internet at the cost of minutes (free nights and weekends though).

Is anything like this possible on the blackberry?

thanks for your help, hope to get a reply soon, and I apologize for the excessive noobiness of my questions. .
