Question Outlook reply also sends original email to Blackberry - 01-15-2009, 03:01 PM

I migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and since the first day that the Exchange 2007 server was installed all replies to emails in Outlook also sends the original email back to the user's Blackberry (not the reply email but the original email that I am replying to). The Exchange 2003 server is now removed from the network but this problem remains so it's not an issue with having two Exchange servers. This is happening on all Blackberries using different providers (Verizon and AT&T). The Blackberries are all setup to pop to the Exchange server. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wirelessly posted

I've posted this problem a few times in the past without any real success. It seems as though this is a constant problem across all services using BIS with Exchange 2007. No type of filter can be setup, since it appears to be re-sending the original email, as opposed to being sent to you from your own mailbox (like gmail used to). Any help would be greatly appreciated...I've been trying to troubleshoot this for over a year!

Has anyone tried contacting Exchange support on this to see if they have a fix?

you will find that RIM have integrated the account as IMAP and this is the cause of the problem you can see the KB article here View Document

it is cause 5, I have had this with several users and RIM have advised on all ocasions that the best fix is OWA integration

H'3...thank you for finding that KB. While I do not like the answer that it presents for IMAP when connected to Exchange, at least I now know there is no solution for it at this time...and I'll stop pulling out my hair.

I guess the question is whether the convenience of not having duplicates when you reply to a message is greater than the instant delivery of email.
