Default Forwarded e-mail missing?

Please Login to Remove!

One of my users forwarded an e-mail from his Blackberry (Curve) at his house this morning. When he came in that e-mail was no longer in his inbox, but was in his sent items. Any reason how or why this happened? He might not catch it all the time.

There is not much info to go off of here. Maybe he has a rule setup and the forwarded message was filed or moved?

I thought that as well, he has several rules set up but we did a search of his entire Inbox and just discovered the message in his sent items, not the original.

I'm not sure. Maybe have him turn off his rules and forward the message again and see what happens.

Then turn the rules back on and forward the message one more time. Try to narrow down the cause.

Other than that, I can't see why the message wouldn't be there,

He did have some rules in there but they were subject lines for spam, and the email in question was from a school board, so I'm sure that wouldn't be blocked. I'll keep diggin' around, any help is appreciated.

OK.. I'll ask the obvious. Did the user delete the email from his BB? With reconciliation, that would also delete it from his desktop inbox.

Nope, the original message is still there. Should have posted that in the original question, my bad.

Alright... only other thing that comes to mind is if they filed it from the BB, that would have left it in the inbox on the device, but in a folder on the server. Though this doesn't jive because it should have showed up on your search.

So is it actually in the trash on the server or has the message in question vanished without a trace?

I just did a search on the server and couldn't find anything, but there's the message he forwarded in his sent items.

Yes you mentioned the forwarded message is in the sent items folder, but is the original message that was forwarded in the trash? I'm not certain if the search features looks in the deleted items folder so... It may not have shown up in a search.
