Default blackberry.net bounces messages from google servers

Please Login to Remove!

I have two blackberries on TMO with tmo.blackberry.net accounts.
both bounce messages sent from google servers, be it straight gmail or "google apps for domains"
messages with a size of 10kilobytes will get bounced with a message of

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 552 552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit (state 18).

this is not limited to my own google based accounts, a TMO rep was able to replicate it.

it appears to be size related, not attachments, even a message without attachments that is 14k will bounce.

yahoo and my corporate server get messages through.
i would blame it on google if the return message was not an SMTP error generated by the rim server.

RIM's 2nd tier support just confirmed the issue, they are working on it and expect to have it resolved within 24-48 hours.
It appears limited to googles web based accounts, gmail/googleAppsForDomains.

I've been having the same problem :( Thanks for the info - guess we just wait. Hooray for single point of failure.

Amazing how this post has already popped up on google search.
