Default HTTP connection to blackberry from blackberry browser without MDS

Is it possibly to do what the HTTPPushdemo does, but without involving MDS ?
Say I have a listener on port 100 on the blackberry. Could the browser make a http connection to it and then it could be processed by input/output streamreader classes ?

hello..
i'm reinhart from indonesia,,
i have problem with blackberry programming..
in my research now i try to make connection to internet because i want to accessing data and fetch data from site.the data format that i take is JSON.
i need your help sir for this problem..how can i make connection to internet/site and i fetch the data which is JSON..
