not sure that you gave enough information here for a great answer but

1) try using her [email address] that should send a text message at no charge to YOUR BB. I think she gets charged for the receipt.

2) If you have txt messaging and dont want to try the above, there is an SMS option - just go into your contacts for you GF phone number and depress the thumb wheel - it will give you options - one of the options is SMS. To use option #1, enter another address for her (email) and choose that one to send the SMS.

3) I dont know what you are trying to say about a BB and a computer together?????

Hope the above helps.

In your Blackberry Address Book just save her email address as "phonenumber@teleflip.com". Whenever you want to text her, just write an email to her at that address. Easy easy.

If you do it the Mark Rejhon way it can be very fast

From the home screen hit C to compose message then the first letter of her first name, then a space, then the first letter or two of her last name, then hit enter, you'll be all ready to type the message instantly. Quick email trick!

And yes, you can use the supplied USB cables to connect the Blackberry to your computer. This is for syncing apps and charging the Blackberry.

You will not have an SMS option on a Nextel blackberry so don't be confused by that. CaptNBlackberry must not have a Nextel blackberry.

I was told by Nextel that the blackberries they use don't support SMS like a normal phone would. Much to the dismay of a few T-Mobile 7230 users here who changed phones.
