I want to move my BES (ver. 4.1.4.3) to a new file server. In looking through the instructions for the knife-edge cutover I am unsure of whether I am using MSDE or SQL. How can this be determined? There are different methods for backing up the database depending on what is configured.

have you had a look at your blackberry configurator properties and look under the tab for databases.... it should have some info there... if not best thing to do is check if u have a system tray icon that looks like a system tower and a green arrow.... that will give u some more information on what sql databases are runnning....

also check ODBC connectors in Control Panel > Administrator Tools

you can also find out what Database Apps is installed Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs....
