I just recently recieved the BB Curve as a gift, and I am not able to make phone calls or send text. I put my SIMS card in the device, and turned it on, and it said "No service" and/or "Searching for service" What i was wondering is, Do I have to have the internet just to make phone calls, and text? If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate the help, and advice. Thank You

No without a data plan you can still use the phone for SMS and Calls. Your SIM needs to be activated with your network. Call your provider and they will help you do this. If you have any paperwork for the SIM such as booklets etc this will sometimes tell you also.

All you need is a voice plan to makes calls and text. Have you signed up for a plan?
