Hi all,

I have a couple of 7100t users that are on Exchange 2000 server and Outlook 2003, latest service pack. It seems when the BlackBerry Internet Server checks for mail Exchange marks the mail as read. So when they get back to their desk and open Outlook, all their mail shows as read, which is problematic for them and didn't used to do it.

I think it also might be happening on my GroupWise 7.0 server as well with Tmobile.

Has anyone else seen this or know how to turn it off?

I am having the same problem. We are running Exchange Server 2003 SP2 on a Windows 2003 Server. The Blackberrys are T-Mobile 7100T.

No BES here. Not yet at least.

I have confirmed on my 7100t and GroupWise 7 that messages marked as read on my Blackberry show as read in GroupWise, while unread messages show unread in GroupWise. This is only on BIS, which I wonder if there has been an upgrade at T-Mobile.

I have this identical activity on our blackberry AND on both Treo 650's in our organization.

I'm looking for creative solutions...

Happens to me too, but I'm used to it now.

You'd have to turn wireless reconcile OFF on the handheld if you don't want the messages in Outlook to be marked as read.

Go to Messages --> Options --> E-mail reconciliation --> select the e-mail account in question under Message Services ---> set Wireless Reconcile OFF


Please let me know if this rectifies the problem.
