Question about Blackberry internet plans Hi, I'm new to blackberrys and just purchased a unlocked Bold 9000. I have tmobile and I have their 3g Edge, GPRS plan for my Samsung Vibrant. I did notice that tmobile has a specific internet plans for blackberrys. I signed a 2 year contract about 2 months ago when I got my samsung vibrant and now Im wondering if the internet plan that I got with the Samsung vibrant can be used with my blackberry without using their "BlackBerry Plans". I plan on keeping both phones and will be switching one for the other on days I choose. Are the 3g EDGE GPRS internet plans for Android and other phones the same and usable for Blackberrys or do I have to actually call up T-Mobile and add their specific Blackberry plan |
Re: Question about Blackberry internet plans You have to get the blackberry specific plan. |
Re: Question about Blackberry internet plans what are the differences between the regular 3g GPRS EDGE service compared to the Blackberry Services ? Any way of getting it to work? |
Re: Question about Blackberry internet plans You must have a BB data plan to get RIM related services such as BBM, email, Facebook, BB browser, etc. There is no way around it. You can use Opera Mini with a generic data plan, which is what you appear to have, but that is a poor work around. Some get it to work, others do not. Re: Question about Blackberry internet plans No way to use the native blackberry internet browser without a blackberry data plan. You may be able to use the hotspot/wifi browser on wifi, but it depends. Some can, others can't. You may also be able to use a third-party browser such as opera mini on your carrier's regular mobile data....see blackberryfaq.com regarding that possibility. |
Re: Question about Blackberry internet plans T-Mobile may allow you to change to the Blackberry. cost more but it may be possible. you may have to extend your contract. worth a shot. |
