Unlocked 9300 - BBM Problem
 
Yesterday i purchased a Blackberry 3G (9300) mobile (unlocked). I inserted my sim from my iPhone and proceeded to add contacts etc. I was then made aware that i could not use Blackberry services without having a Blackberry bolt-on on my account. I purchased this bolt on and i am still yet to be able to connect and use services on the mobile such as Facebook or the mobile web browser. My friend of which is well versed in Blackberrys told me that my phone was not downloading the correct service books to allow me to connect to these applications.

I can currently use the phone with 3rd party apps like Twitter (so i can connect to the internet).

My network provider is o2UK, i have a data plan and i also have a blackberry bolt on enabled.

My internet settings set under TCP IP are below:
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username for APN: payandgo
Password for APN: password

I believe the issue is the registration of the device to obtain the correct service books. I have went into the host routing table and selected 'register now' but nothing :(

First try a battery pull - 1st step to take if device is having problems? - BlackBerryFAQ

and resend your service books - How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ

If those don't fix the problem, then you need to call your carrier and make sure the BB data plan/bolt on is actually set up correctly and how long do you need to wait to enable BB services.
