Wink No BlackBerry service for Bell Mobility EvDO units in Thuder Bay?

Good day,

I'm trying to confirm some information that has come to me from the Bell Mobility Data Support Team. They have reported that, due to network limitations, any Bell Mobility BlackBerry that is EvDO ready (so the 7130e or the upgraded 7250) will not function for data in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas.

If there are any Bell users out there that are working in that area and have exerience that will either confirm or deny that statement could you please post here to let me know?

Yes. I've been dealing with Richard directly. I was hoping to compare his experience with other users in Thunder Bay.

It has been confirmed by Bell and Thunder Bay Telephones that they do not support a MIP connection so in fact any updated BB will not work in Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay Tell is one of the largest BB networks in Northwestern Ontario, they do support the older connection, they informed me that it may be 2 Q 2007 before they do. I am going to attemp to revert back to 4.0 or 4.1 without the evdo patch. Both worked prior to installing the EVDO patch.
