Can someone please help me. Ok I started out with a blackberry on cingular a little over a year ago. I left them and went to nextel and got a blackberry. I ported my number over and everything. Now back then...everyone knew my blackberry address...me@mycingular.blackberry.net. So I setup a auto reply that said "My new address is [email address]" and everyone that emailed me at the old address instantly knew my new address. Well I just moved from Nextel to tmobile for blackberry service. LOL..just had to have that 8700g. I dont get that option to set a auto reply anymore letting everyone know my new [email address] address. I know with the new bis 2.0...there is no longer a webclient inbox. Am I totally screwed? Now I have a dead nextel blackberry..and no way of getting to my emails...or even forwarding to my new address. My Cingular email still works and still sends the auto reply to this day..and it's been ova a year. I can still even login and check my mail. I called nextel and they pretty much seemed clueless..and said there was no way to help me. I know there has to be someway to do this.

Wirelessly posted (7105t: BlackBerry7100/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

I guess this is still working with Cingular because they didn't wipe out your username on their blackberry log. I know that when I had Cingular, I switched from the blackberry to the treo and when I went back to the blackberry almost a year later they had never removed my blackberry user name from their system. Basically, I just added my new imei and pin and added the blackberry days plan and I was good to go. I switched from Cingular to T-Mobile and I used the same user name that I had at Cingular with my T-Mobile email blackberry address.

I had the exact opposite happen to me when I changed devices. I had one @tmo.blackberry.net address (attached to a 7100t). I ditched the BB for Sidekicks (even changing from the BB plan to the SK plan). I decided to come back to the blackberry and I called to try to re-activate the old username I had with the new plan I have, they couldn't do it. I was told I had to make a slight change in my username, before the @ symbol, to be able to use the email addy I wanted to be used with my 7105t. I have since changed the username again and don't plan on going back unless I can get the old account back.

I logged into my account and it asked me if I wanted to use the PIN/IMEI numbers attached to the old device/account. I still sometimes get emails forwarded to me from the old BB address to the new one I have now (but with an error message stating the mail can't be delivered to the old address). Any clue as to why I was told I couldn't get my older username back? I still have the BB 7100t that account was tied to.

To be able to use your old T-Mobile blackberry user name attached to your 7100t, you just go in and out in your new blackberry device pin and imei number and you'll have your old user name. That's what I did on my T-Mobile account when I changed blackberry devices.

Yes You Can! you can set auto reply with your tmo.blackberry.net email add. just login to your mytmobile, click communications tool, under email click learn more, click set up blackberry internet email, click configured email accounts, from there edit your email account to whatever reply address you want.

your best option is going to be emailing your address book advising them of your new address

then having Nextel delete your currnt one
then whenever someone emails it they will get a notification that they can't send to it. hopefully @ that point they will remember your previous email about your new address
