Default Best Way for BES/MDS

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I have exchange 2003 (as part of SBS 2003)

I have the express edition of BES 4.1

I have a BES 6750 with OS 4.0 on a Bell Mobility network

The internet connection for the exchange server is sympatico DSL which has a dynamic IP but I have a dyndns domain account tied to it.

So what I really need is to be able to use one of IM's, ideally MSN since that is what the bulk of my clients use to communicate with me use. With this setup will I be able to do this? Calender and Task syncing will be a nice add on too though.

Sorry if this is so basic, but new to the BES admin role.

Thanks

You'll have to make sure your BES server can use the MSN and there's no IP blocked. Go to the server and load MSN since it's going ot use you MDS.

So I got everything setup it all appears to be working, the exchange account and the BB are in sync and I got MSN working using Causerie messenger, all was good with the world.

Then a day or two later the messenger stopped working, the exchange account and everything still sync and such.

Any idea what could cause this? All I can think of is some how the dynamic IP nature of the DSL is causing a problem. But I don't know enough about BES/MDS to know how this would affect it.

Thanks for any help

And to add to that, Causerie is the only IM program that I have have installed that runs on a 6750. If anyone knows of any others that work on the 6750 that would be great.
