I recently bought an unlocked Blackberry Pearl 8100 in the states, so that I may use it in Grenada with the Blackberry service provider there. However, they mentioned to me that the PIN for the BB is associated with T-mobile and cannot be used in Grenada.
Can I contact BB/T-mobile and have them release the PIN from T-Mobile? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am only currently using the BB as a 'phone' as of right now, and do not want to wait until the pearl becomes available within Grenada, may take 6 months!!!
Yes, if you cancel your TMo data plan and ask them to release the PIN and IMEI from their servers you should be fine. Eg. I use a Cingular 8700c unlocked on TMo and I'm located in Canada.
Thanks for the quick response! My BB was never activated with TMo, would I still have to get them to release the PIN and IMEI from their servers?
