Default Technical : How does MDS differ from Email in transmission

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

From a technical point, how does MDS differ from email. The key point is could the network tell which packets are MDS and which are email when they go over their GPRS lines?

The reason for asking is trying to work out the T-mobile international package. It says "Email only" but no one seems to get charged for data. I am trying to work out if it would be even possible for them to know it was data when using MDS. My assumption is that under BIS they could detect TCP/IP packets, but if all mail/mds data is encrypted and the packets are sent the same way - can they tell the difference.

Any ideas?
