Default BB issues with BIS and synching...need a GURU...

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,

Got a major problem. I am an IT consultant. I have a client using 3 Blackberries. Two are on Verizon and 1 is on Cingular. Yesterday, both Verizon BB lost connection. When you login to the Verizon site, their passwords needed "changing" but their email passwords never changed. I re-entered their credentials and it picked up fine. I thought Verizon was having issues. Then it happened again today. So I was set on calling Verizon.

Then a Cingular user called me with the same issue. I had to re-enter his password and it is working again. What gives?

I am setting all three up via OWA without using a desktop redirector.

Got the same message about my yahoo email account. Stating the my yahoo email via BIS may have changed and that I wouldn't be getting yahoo mails sent to my BB. Figured it was a Cingular issue but since you've had the same issue with verizon it's good to know.

I have a total of about 5 clients with Blackberry issues now...

My understanding of BIS vs. BES is that BIS is hosted by providers. However, if Cingular and Verizon have blackberrry servers, are they not governed by BB themselves? Is it possible that Cingular and Verizon BB servers are in the same area?

Actually RIM hosts all the BIS servers at their location for all carriers. Have you asked VZW data support to escalate to RIM? Best to have RIM troubleshoot the problem.

That is what I was trying to spit out...I thought all BIS servers were in one location. So we might be dealing with an issue at RIM? I haven't haerd a complaint since I reconfigured the devices...agian.

However, there seems to be a 24 hour period that it will take before the account fizzles out again...
