Just want to confirm again that our BES support are lazy asses.
I have 2 users in a department using Reuters Connect on their blackberries.
Both are using 7280's with the newest handheld software on them.
Both users are set up on our new BES 4.1
Both users have identical settings on their blackberries.
One user connects fine to Reuters Connect, the other user is getting a MDS connection error. Exact error is as follow:
Unable to log in!
MDS Service Unavailable: U96
The official answer I've gotten from our BES support is:
WE UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT SUPPORT THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS OF THE BLACKBERRY DEVICES.
OK, if you don't want to support 3rd party apps then here's an idea: lock down the goddamn handhelds with a policy that restricts the installation of 3rd party apps. Oh what's that? More work you say? Why am I not surprised?
btw. I am in IT as well, I just work in Ontario... you know... where people actually work...
