Default Telus Problems! - 09-26-2004, 06:59 PM

I am trying to install eOffice. When I run the setup it says"the handheld system software package is not installed on your computer"?? It then sends me to a screen where I pick my provider (Telus). I download and install the software (blackberry v3.7 for the wireless handheld). After this the desktop manager starts up and I get a microsoft error/send report pop up. The desktop manager no longer responds. The only way to rectify this porblem is to uninstall everything and start new again, without the software I supposedly require to run eoffice?? I would really appreciate any suggestions from anyone. I am so desperate to get this working I'll give 6 gmail invites to the first that can help me. Thanks!

Justin

Uninstall everything related to RIM on your computer.

Go to this page:
https://www.blackberry.com/SoftwareD...ient=dB5bZddMq

Select the 7750 from the menu and download the appropriate software.

Install the software, then install eOffice on your computer.

Plug in your blackberry, and you should be a ok from that point on

Thanks...but the exact same thing happened. I uninstalled everything from my computer. I downloaded the Telus handheld file you pointed out and then tried to install it but it said that I needed the desktop manager to run it. I then downloaded the desktop manager from the same link you provided. I installed both and ran the manager and I got the same error "Handheld tool RimDeviceManager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I am very confused with this?

I just tried it on my desktop and it does the same thing as my laptop. Thanks for trying. I guess I'll have to try Telus/Rim support now? Email me and I'll give you the gmails! [email address]

Default Same problem here - 10-09-2004, 10:09 PM

If it makes you feel any better I am experienceing the same thing here.

I just got a 6750 and if I goto the Blackberry site and try to download the desktop and then install the update - no errors to this point.

When I insert the unit into the cradle it says syncronizing then I get the Microsoft Message This application has to close- send error report.

I have uninstalled and re-installed.

The operating system here is Windows XP home SP2

Actually, I wouldn't mind a GMail invite -- Would love to test it out, though it will probably not ever be a primary email account.

Thanks,
