I am on Cingular and it looks like there was an upgrade to BIS 2.3 over the weekend. I am running into a problem when I try to add my work email account (using the Mail Connector).

Mail Connector looks like a CAB file which is downloaded directly from the browser. It looks like this CAB file for BIS 2.3 is not digitally signed which is causing problems with Windows XP SP2. This used to work fine in BIS 2.1 (in which the CAB was signed).

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, I have the same problem. You need to set your ActiveX setting so you can allow downloading it. When I set it so I can download, then I got the prompt to install or not install. however, I am not stuck with another problem.. I have initialization failure " there was an error installing the update. The error returend was 0x80070005"... So, I am still figuring out what that mean...

supposedly RIM is coming out with a patch asap

to set ActiveX, you need to go to IE -> Tools -> options -> Security and then make sure you select those that say disable to "prompt".
