The instant mobile e-mail device Blackberry, is now available in India. Bharti Tele-Ventures has joined hands with Research In Motion, to bring this software to India, reports CNBC-TV18.

Airtel customers can now access instant e-mail, internet and corporate data on their phones with the launch of BlackBerry.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, CMD, Bharti Enterprises, said, "It will change the life style of the people, the way mobile phones did some years back. Instant mail, works as a phone and sends you SMS but the most powerful item is instant mail."

Bharti will be selling three models with Blackberry ranging between Rs 19,000-33,000. The cost of access will depend on airtime usage. It will have exclusive rights to market the device with its Airtel connections.

Donald H Morrison, CEO, Research In Motion, said, "We provide the software, the services, the devices and Airtel organisation will take it to the market."

Airtel is launching the service in 13 key cities and in its 18 mobile networks. The company is hoping to add a significant number to the 1.6 million(16 lakhs) Blackberry users worldwide.
