Default RIM's support of Macs - 01-12-2006, 03:19 PM

I just read on MacNN that RIM will begin offering PocketMac as a free download starting in Feb. That's good and bad news. It's good because free is always good. Also, I hope that means that PM will have more resources devoted to fixing the thing. It's bad because that means that RIM isn't doing their own version of desktop manager. Anyway, just thought I'd let us Mac users know.

Wonder if RIM will get around to enabling modem support? ;)

Darn and to think I recently paid for PocketMac. Well, hopefully RIM will make it more intuitive.

Sounds like RIM wants to have a finger in the pot, so hopefully they will address intuitiveness!

I downloaded the pocketmac version for my Powerbook and it seems pretty smooth, no probs so far and no crashes. Nice freebie.

Can you provide some details on your setup? I've had no end of problems with PocketMac Pro 3.51 for the WinMobile side of the house on my eMac G4 and PowerMac G4, both running OS X 10.4.4. I've been going back and forth for MONTHS with IAA, and am just about to rip out the Pro version and try the BlackBerry version to see if it's any better (and ditch my iPaq once and for all).
