This was reported several days ago, so I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet. Or is $150 million too small to bother with?

BlackBerry maker loses patent suit, must pay $147m

"A federal jury in San Francisco has found beleaguered BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) liable for $U147.2 million in damages for infringing on patents held by Mformation Technologies."
