Default New BlackBerry 88XX OtterBox available - 08-29-2007, 03:32 PM

The new OtterBox 1933 looks a little sleeker than you might be used to from these guys.

I just got my otterbox in for my 8830 and I love it. It has 3 layers. A molded clear plastic piece that covers the screen and the keyboard, the hard plastic shell, and then a rubber slip cover that goes over the case. This case is for anyone that is as rough on phones as I am. It is a lot slimmer than previous otterbox cases for BB and it fits great in your hand. It also comes with a belt clip that resembles the clip that came with my 7250. It even has the magnet in the clip to put the BB to sleep when in the holster...best case for a BB of any kind.

I preordered and it shipped on the promised date. But I'm in Canada so it will take longer to get to me -- I can hardly wait!

Very impressive case! Albeit a bit expensive...however has anyone tried the 8700 Otterbox for the BB 8700 series? I'm curious how does the scroll wheel work on the outside..because it looks like one has to navigate the wheel in reverse?

I've just received the 8800 case for review and first impressions are excellent. Fits like a glove, doesn't make the device too bulky and looks like it will add some useful protection.

I'm packing the 8800 case right now, and it really is pretty styling. The wrapper gets a lot of bubbles under it, which show up clearly on the screen, and the outer rubber layer can get knocked out of place by the screen fairly easily... Outside of that, it really is slim and tough. Sometimes I drop it just because I can. ;)

As for the 8700 case, it comes with two scrollwheel covers: one that's just a nub that you have to use in reverse, but the other is a more complicated mechanical assembly that mimics the scrollwheel accurately. Expect reviews for both cases up on BBCool in the near future.
