Default Swapping BB SIM to a PDA phone, then back? - 01-28-2008, 08:40 AM

I hope this is the right forum to ask this question?

I have an ATT BB 8800, which I love and am keeping. I have BB unlimited data. My question is this:

I want to add a PDA (HTC Advantage) to be able to do MS Office stuff, get a bigger screen, etc. Can I swap the SIM card from the BB and put it into the PDA when I want to do this, then put it back into the BB? I will not be using the PDA for calling.

ATT telephone support said yes, and that no additional charges would added. The ATT store said no, it will not work, and if it did, data charges would be additional. Well, I know it works because when I was at the store we plugged in my SIM card to the HTC Advantage and accessed the internet.

Anyone done this?

1) It is your sim card and you own the phones. You can do whatsoever with them.
If your HTC is not locked to a non ATT carrier, it will surely work.
2) Regarding data access, I am not sure, since data is accessible on a BB device only through the BB browser . On a non BB device(Nokia) , it doesnot work. But I think some winMo cooked ROMS do have browsers enabling it to access BB plan's browsing facility.

thanks for the reply. The HTC will be unlocked, so I am good to go.
