Default ICS IPPP service book needed for TMO (read inside)

Guys:

Been with T-Mobile on the phone quite a few times since I got mny SK65 and for the most part all has worked well. We finally got the BWC to recognize my PIN by opening a new account.

Unfortunately, although my browser is there I can't get it to work because the ICS IPPP service book is missing. I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and all seems to be fine on my account but somehow when they try to push the service bookto my device it just doesn't do anything at all. I had already tried logging into the BWC and sending the Internet book, but it doesn't work. I also double checked to make sure that the APN "wap.voicestream.com" was added to the account.

The BB specialist at T-Mobile called RIM and RIM is completely stuck on saying that because its not a RIM device, they can't take the call. Even when RIM knows that they licensed the software to Siemens to use.

So, the techs suggestion was for me to find another 7100 or 7290 BlackBerry user with T-Mobile service who is willing to backup their browser service book and send it to me so I can get them restored. It seems the service book is the same for everyone.

So I'm wondering if there is a good samaritan who would be willing to back up their browser service books and email them to me at roy.marquez(at)gmail(dot)com. Then I can finally put this behind me and enjoy the BB browser on this device.

Regards

P.S. For all the other SK65 users, I m working on a compatibility list regarding apps and utilities. I'll be posting these findings soon. Although it hs been a bit rocky to get this to work, I love this device!

Default Willing to compensate someone for the time

I forgot to mention: I'm willing to compensate someone ($$$) for the time and work of doing a backup of their T-Mobile Internet Service Books (ICS IPPP service book). Email address is above. I really need this *desperately* to have *full* functionality of my BB. Thanks!

Default Success at last!

After waiting a bit with no luck for someone to offer to back up the books and send them to me, I finally broke down and got a 7100v... inserted my SIM card, had all 7100 Service books pushed to me. I backed them up on the Desktop Manager switched to my SK65 and restored them..voila!

My SK65 works now like a charm. *Full* functionality. No compromises. Few issues with Berry 411, and Magmic games, but other than that, it works like a charm.

The 7100v is not with Verizon. The V stands for Vodafone. Its a GSM phone and Verizon phones don't use GSM.

FWIW, the IPPP books are only pushed to the 7290 and the 7100 devices, if you have a 7230 (or other) device on t-mobile you will not get the book. You DO NOT need it to browse the web though.

Scooby

I posted those findings over at the Charm Forum from a correspondence with RIM. But I noticed when comparing the serive book I get with my SK65 and my 7100v, that on the SK65 I'm missing that IPPP for BIBS service book (that only gets pushed to the 7290 and 7100 per T-Mobile policy, anb Im also missing the BlackBerry Internet Browsing Service Book. That combo made some magic and now I can browse on the Sk65
