Default Blackberry connect PIN - 02-09-2008, 11:10 AM

I was told that I need to connect my Kaiser onto my PC in order to obtain a PIN#.. but the problem is my PC and Kaiser is not syncing with USB..

is there any other way I am able to get a PIN#? or any method I'm able to connect my Kaiser to my PC to get one? I'm going to get the BIS plan.

It doesn't matter that you're not syncing using USB, you have to have an ActiveSync (or whatever Vista is calling it) link. Install Active Sync, but select nothing to be synced when you connect your Kaiser. While connected, fire up the BB Connect Desktop, and press the big Configure Device button at the bottom. That will get you your PIN.

My PC is not detecting my phone, not just not syncing. So even if I did connect my phone, blackberry desktop still wouldn't be able to detect it.

Ah, I see. Is your PC running XP or Vista? If XP, do you have ActiveSync 4.6 installed?

You are correct. 4.5 is the latest. Does the trouble shooter come up with anything?

Look at Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC. Mine has "Enable advanced network functionality" checked.

What steps did you take that finally resulted in getting the PIN?

Turns out the T-mobile rep I called did not help me add the plan the first time when I requested it.
So finally I've given up all hope, I decided to give T-Mobile another call to see if they can help. The other T-Mobile rep said you need a blackberry plan in order to use blackberry connect, I said I do, then he said I only see that you have a total internet plan here. I was pissed after all those days I was trying to configure it without the plan.
The PIN just appeared when they added the plan.

but I got a new problem now: http://www.blackberryforums.com/blac...obile-usa.html

I thought that might be the problem. I've had the same experience with AT&T where they tell you they are adding the BB Unlimited plan and then you later find they added a standard data plan.

Once you have the correct data plan the rest of the setup usually goes smoothly. I see you are still having issues with getting email and I don't have any suggestions other than having your sys admin verify that you do have a BES account on the server.

Thanks, but I just solved it after been transferred from multiple service representatives from T-Mobile.
