Default Help with Hermes - 02-19-2008, 04:33 PM

Hello All,

I am new to this so any help would be great.

I have an HTC-Hermes (unlocked) phone with original shipped Windows Mobile 6 ROM version: 3.54.255.3 (CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1))

I am on T-Mobile USA

I enabled the "Blackberry Feature Enabler" on my account.

We have BES server at work (ver. 4.1.4)

I installed Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.92 on the phone.

I setup the account on BES and activated.

I connected from my phone using BBC. I got PIN # and IP Address and Service Status: Connected.

I activated the account using the Enterprise Activation tab (using the wireless network). Everything was great and in no time I was able to read my work emails and send emails as well.

However...

After 10-15 minutes sync was not going on. I tried manual sync with no success. I tried restarting the phone, re-activating.. Nothing.

I decided to uninstall the software and re-install again. After that I am getting PIN # (the same as before) and IP address and Status: Connected, however I can not pass the activation phase any more. I reset the account on BES with a new code, but when I try to activate I always get:

Activation Pending
Activating ...
Error: Contact Administrator

and stops there.

It looks like Blackberry network does not allow my device/account to go through any more.

From the log files in BES it looks like there is no attempt for connection from my phone and this is why I think T-Mobile is allowing the traffic (as I am getting Status: Connected) and Blackberry is blocking my device/account.

Anyone with any idea on what might be the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Default It looks like it is not possible - 02-20-2008, 03:42 PM

Well,

I talked with Blackberry support and T-Mobile support. Blackberry told me that they could "see" my device (using the PIN #) on their network and that I was not provisioned for data from T-Mobile.

I called T-Mobile and they told me I have to activate the Blackberry Data plan (different from the "Blackberry Feature Enabler" that is free) for $29.99/month. They told me that everything in my setup is fine and the moment I activate this plan I would be able to connect to the BES server.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I have the T-MobileWeb/T-Zones plan and not the Unlimited Internet plan.

T-Mobile also said that the reason I was able to connect the first time for a few minutes, is because there is a bug in their system when they activate the "Blackberry Feature Enabler" that allows traffic to go through and that somehow the system corrects it self after a few minutes.

So I guess I can not connect with my low end data plan.
