Default New BBC for Nokia E90 - 04-03-2008, 09:28 PM

Just saw this at Nokia Business Software Downloads

S60 (Nokia E90)

Nokia S60 BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.9.1(.SISX, 3,93 MB)
NOTE: You need software version 200.34.73 on your device. This client is for BlackBerry Connect 4.0. You may use the BlackBerry Connect Desktop software for your PC (see below) to provision your phone but it is not necessary because BlackBerry Connect 4.0 is able to perform Over The Air Enterprise Activation.

and note the size 3.93MB !!, almost 25% more than previous version. Hopefully got lots of new features! :D

if onlythey have not pull out the upgrade. Was a bit too late to download it.Did youmanage to download and how diff is this new bb connect as compared to the previous one.Any changes especially inthe address lookup, maybe its now like bb device? This is becaue the lookup was my biggest gripe about the bb implementation in the other non bb devices. Does it also show you are cc or bcc hwen receiving mail

I managed to download version 8.9.1, and I wanted to install it on my backup Nokia E51 just for some tests (version 7.45.1 for E90 also worked for E51), but I'm afraid to install it as I assume it has been withdrawn from the download site for some serious reason (perhaps some major bug or so). Anyhow, the size of the downloaded file was only 2.95 MB instead of 3.93 MB.

The new version of BBC won't work with the pulled Firmware. It was 200.34.72 and BBC only works with 200.34.73, which is one of the main reasons why they pulled it. No worries though, its just going under some fine tweaking before it's officially re-released to the public. I for one cannot wait. This 7.45.1 is about as stable as a two-legged table.
