Default Using normal Blackberry and BBC - 04-04-2008, 08:46 AM

I have just got a new 8310, which is working very well.

However, I'm used to my Treo which I love and I know BBC is probably the best way to use a non-RIM phone with a BES server.

I don't know too much on how a BES server works - but I had a go at using BBC and the process started, and then just didn't work. I then checked my 8310 and it also wasn't working! So when I spoke to our IT admin, he said I was getting lots of errors - something to do with the PIN number.

What I'm really trying to find out is if I'm able to use my Blackberry as normal, and register my Treo also to give it a go and test to see which one I prefer? Or can you only register one device with an account full stop?

I don't really want to try it again in case they have to reset my account again!

Any feedback would be great!

Cheers.

I also tried to use an E51 with BBC as an alternative for my BB 8320 and I got into a similar mess - none was working properly until I phoned my service provider and they re-enabled the BIS service on my 8320. Sorry, I don't know about BES. From what I understood, you can only have one device registered with BB service at a time. To change the device, you have to change both the device serial and PIN, which for me turned out to be impossible.
