I have a non fido Nokia E61i which I am trying to install BBC on it. I tried to download BBC ver 4.0 but it said it was not compatible with my software version on the phone. So I installed a lower version for the Nokia E62 but it still does not work. can someone help me on this.

Go to Nokia Business Software Downloads

In the dropdown boxes, choose Region = Americas, Operator = Other (do NOT choose Fido), then Phone Model = Nokia E61i. If your handset is running firmware 2.0633.65, then download BBC v4 release 7.45. If it is running anything else, download the older revision, v7.17.2.

Should install just fine. That's what I ran on my E61i before and after the firmware upgrade.

I appreciate the response. I tried your suggestion but it still does not work. The error message I get when trying to install any version of blackberry connect on my E61i is: "Blackberry software is not authorized for use with phone software version".

The firmware on my phone is 1.0633.18.01 date 11-01-07, RM-294, Nokia E61i-2.

I was told by Nokia that my phone was made for Finland and that somehow it found its way here in north America. Another reason why no one should buy anything over eBay. Can someone help me on this. They say that the phone does not have an update. I bought nokia the E61i because it was a good qulaity phone and had blackberry connect. How can a phone from Finland or anywhere else not have blackberry connect. Why am i the lucky one. can someone give me some suggestions. The carrier is Fido in Canada.

If it is from Finland, then select "Europe, Middle East, Africa" for the region and try the client version 7.1.4 offered there.
