Default BlackBerry Connect in the United States - 09-14-2005, 09:12 AM

Lately, I have noticed a lot of press releases from carriers and mobile phone makers that are starting to offer BlackBerry Connect. Unfortunately for me, BlackBerry Connect hasn't really caught on in the United States yet.

Does anyone have any ideas why it hasn't caught on Stateside? It seems to me like it would spread like wildfire if it were available.

Supposedly U.S. carriers just aren't interested, at least at this time (that's according to Palm CEO Ed Colligan). I imagine that the still unresolved NTP lawsuit also has something to do with it.

As with most things mobile, Europe and Asia tends to set the trend, with the US following becasue typically users of US cells do not spend the money on extras. In any case the software for BB connect is available for various devices like the P900 and the nOkia 9300. They are just not easy to find
