Default Any luck on the HTC Touch HD? - 11-19-2008, 03:06 PM

I've tried to get BB Connect .103 working on my Touch HD - no luck so far. I got an IP after the first reboot - I even got the network registration messages. But then it disconnects and won't reconnect at all. All it says is "IP pending"
I'm on Swisscom, btw.

Did anyone have more luck?

dakis

ps: trying to uninstall BB connect wasn't a good idea, either - had to do a hard reset to get things working again :-/

The carriers have to enable support for the HD and so far none have. This is why you see the 'IP Pending' message. Until they allow the device on their network you cannot get an IP.

If the past pattern is a predictor they will do this eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

So far AT&T does not support BB Connect for the Touch HD on their network. They do allow the Touch Pro (HTC Fuze) which has been out for several months now.

AT&T will tell you that they don't support BB Connect for the Touch Diamond but I have been running it since the device was released.

At first, I used to have this problem on the HTC Tytn II that I purchased. I was able to fix it by doing this:
  1. Change registry setting (HKLM\System\Versions Aku set to .0.4.2)
  2. Soft Reset
  3. Change Device ID to any value (Settings->System->About->Device ID)
  4. Soft Reset

Hope this helps....

Go to SEMS.ORG and Download Version *.106 for BB connect , Also download BB Connect Desktop.

Then Install BB Connect Desktop on your system , Connect your device with ActiveSync. Run BB Connect Desktop Tool --- install the bbconnect file for device

it will generate pin number , check with your service provider ---

I have successfully installed BB with HTC touch HD / BlackStone

There are five of us in my company who are now using the Touch HD with BB Connect on AT&T in the US. For AT&T it definitely required the .106 cab.

While updating the data plan for the last user I upgraded to BB Connect the AT&T rep told me to make sure I had the right install file for the device since they are all based on IMEI number ranges. While I can't know for sure, this seems to be logical based on the experiences reported here and elsewhere.

BTW, has anyone seen problems with the calendar not updating on the device after provisioning? This is connecting to a corporate BES on a Lotus Notes system. I've seen this intermittently on a Diamond and I can always get the calendar entries to sync after I make some update to the entry and then save it on the desktop side.

I just saw this on a Touch HD the other day but when I installed mine and several others the calendar synched automatically upon provisioning as I expected.

Also, for Notes users RIM still hasn't fixed the bug for the false invalid address issue when replying to email from Notes users who are not in your local address book. Local as in on your PDA local.
