not sure if this can be done but I have the XDAIIi with Blackberry Connect and it works like a dream with the Normal Email Service. I also have a BES Account at work and if I place a Corporate Sim (Borrowed from a colleague) in my XDA I get the Corporate Mail.

But as my Personal Sim is on a Consumer tarrif they stop BES Traffic is there any work round for this?

At the moment I have an outlook rule that redirect's mail to my O2Email account. But would be nice to have the contact and calender lookup feature

What do you think would be slightly illegal? Not exactly a helpful response to the OP. Just coz someone asks for a workaround, I don't get how you assume he's about to commit an illegal act (especially in a foreign country). I'd be interested to hear your arguments about why you expect it to be illegal.

For instance, my Vodafone UK consumer SIM is enabled for BES because I called up and asked. That is a workaround - rather than a corporate SIM, get the provider to enable the existing SIM. Certainly not illegal. If it's enabled for blackberry web access I'd call them up and ask them to change it over - can't do anything wrong.

That would be analogous to me posting a question to some auto forum asking how to make my car go above 70MPH - and someone telling me that sounds slightly illegal. (?!?) Well actually no. If I said "I am going to drive down the I-35 near Austin at 75 in a 65 " then yes, you could advise that I was being rather anti-social and commiting a crime in the process.

Unfortunaltly O2 UK won't just enable it, aprrently their system will just reset it by default if you are on a consumer tarrif, it took me over 2 months to get them to put me on a consumer tarrif that would allow blackberry support to start with.

So I guess it's all done at the Service Provider end and thus no work round this end. All the BES gets is a Hand Held Refuse with my Consumer Sim but with a colleague Blackberry enabled Corporate sim it's ok.

It sounds to me like he's trying to get around paying a tax that is levied on it. Which would be tax fraud.

Nope there is not tax on this, I pay £15 a month for a serivice that I thought I would get full usage out of but i'm limited to use only the Internet Mail service and not a the BES service. Iwanted to use one the of Hosted BES Service services so that I can have my Calender upadated as well.

So I'm not trying to do anything illegeal in my Eyes just trying to get the most out of a great service from blackberry that o2 uk have chosen not allow me to and sounds like vodafone uk does allow it so I guess I'll move my account over once my contract expires

Be sure to call them and check before (if) you move to Voda. It may have just been them making a mistake with me! Plus it was a while ago and since then they re-structured their pricing plans.

Best way to make sure they do it is to go into a retail shop and get the salesperson (who probably knows little) to agree that BES is in the package before you buy (preferably on paper). They should be obliging then.

Edit - Thinking about it my SIM is a sole trader account vis a bob-on-the-street personal/consumer, but I don't think it's much difference in price.

i got sold the wrong tarrif by o2 as well but soon realised once the emails stopped after 2 hours

only way with o2 is a corporate tarriff 30quid a month unlimited

I guess that is what's confusing me. In the US tarriff means tax.
