Angry Charging the SK65 - 01-03-2006, 02:55 PM

Anybody have any issues charging their Siemens SK65?
What's happening with me is I'll put it on the charger in the power off state, and then take it off a full 24 hours later and the battery will still be dead!

I've noticed this happens only sometimes.

Obviously I've checked the charger unit and the red light is on so I know its getting juice.

I had some problems and then I upgraded it to the latest 55 version of the firmware, got a 8700c now, so I haven't been using my SK65 much. What firmware are you running?

OK maybe this is a stupid question, but for USA people with the SK65... how do you charge it? Mine is arriving tomorrow (I ordered from Expansys) and I'm assuming it will come with a UK or EU-type charger. Do you use a simple travel converter or did you find a compatible North America charger?

Will it charge via USB? If so, do the BB chargers work with it?

I just purchased an adaptor for the power cable from iGo. I'm pretty positive it doesn't charge through USB. I had both types of USB data cables and neither worked. The power adaptor does both 110 and 220, so no worries.

Hey, sorry for the delay...

To answer some of your questions.
When I bought mine off of eBay the seller swaped out the power cord for me and put in a US format power cord. I assuem it originally had a AUS cord.

A travel converter should work fine.

I too have the USB cord for synching I assume, but it doent seem to charge the phone. I have heard alot of chatter about phones being able to charge via USB. Dont know why they cant seem to pull it togeather.

Anyway regarding my phone charging issue...

It actually seems to be when the phone is ON and I charge it, it seems to charge, but when I turn it OFF and charge it just dies.
