Default P910i BES setup - 01-21-2006, 03:28 PM

I have setup my SE P910i to work with Blackbery Enterprise. The software is installed on my handset, I have a Blackberry service from Vodafone Germany and it all seems to work incl. GPRS etc, but I get no mail. All the help lines say P910i is not supported or give me some other useless answer.

On normal Blackberry devices their is an activation button on the device but there is no such thing in the P910i software. I heard from a friend that you need to make some settings in the BES to activate the device (there was something about the IMEI and the PIN too).

Can anyone give me clear instructions on what has to be done on the server to activate my device? I need to give these to my adminstrator who also keeps telling me the P910i is not supported.

Many thanks in advance, Marcus

you need to use the sony ericsson synch software and install the blackberry configuration tool on it... then use the computer to activate your account..

check out the included installation files..

Default Server setup - 01-22-2006, 05:00 AM

I used the synch and the desktop config - all this worked fine. I just don't get email.

I heard that there are some changes that need to be made on the server.

With a normal Blackberry device you get an activation password and then press the activation icon on the handheld to enter the password. There is no such similar process on the P910i, so you need to do the activation manually on the server.

I would like to know exactly what needs to be done on the server (we have BES 4.0).

Many thanks to anyone who can help!

your BES admin need to add you as a BB user in the BES, same procedure as for new BB device user.

run the "Blackberry Configuration for Sony Ericsson" software while your P910 is connected to your PC with the blackberry software running.

follow the software's instruction to complete setup.

good luck !
