Default SK65 with BES, DCA-510 & BB Desktop - 01-24-2006, 08:43 PM

Hey guys I did a quick search before posting so hopefully this isn't a double post. I got a Siemens SK65 BB edition. My work has a BES, I installed BlackBerry Desktop Manger v4.1.0.8 (dated Aug 18, 2005).

My SK65 didn't come with the data cable so I got a DCA-510 Data cable which it has as one of the 4 cables you can use to connect it to your desktop/laptop. I connect the Data cable, it popped up and asked me to install some drivers which I did. However the thing I found odd was it did charge the phone however I didn't actually see the phone as a Device. As well the BB Desktop Manager can't see it.

Below is a screenshot of what I get. The Cable has created that Com4 Com5 and Com8 in the device manager. However the phone actually doesn't show there. am I missing something simple like having to click something on the actual BB?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

alright just so if people search and have the same problem. The problem is I needed the Siemens software at http://www.benqmobile.com/cds/frontd...0and%20Drivers

however I still can't get the computer to use the datacable to manage the Device. For now I'm using bluetooth.

as well I called my Phone Provider and they said for my data service to work I needed to enter an IP along with 2 ports. with a username/password.

Does anyone know where I enter this?
