I must have been out of the loop for quite a long time as I have yet to see this phone and this post. One thing I don't understand is why does it seem like people are always trying to get the RIM feature on a different device. IMHO that is just plan stupid, if you want a RIM BB then buy a real BB instead of buying a phone and using some 3rd party program to make that feature work. The SK65 is obviously not cutting it for most people, especially for those that have used a BB before.

Guess is just a huge liar and RIMM is scrambling out there tails. This device has not the capabilites to be worth 900usd. How the ^&$*( can you say it is worth that when it does not syn NOTES, TASKS, CALENDARS, CONTACTS.

Oh Did I mention that it take 90-120 seconds to pull email and at that time the device is completely useless.

OH I forgot to tell you that there is no BBweb browser.

OH there is also no OTA meaning 45minutes for each sync your PC.

OH who supports it? I called to ask a few questions with siemens and they had no answers.

This thing is just a joke. A great way to show your buddies how much you love something that you will spend big bucks for a sexy bed mate. [/quote]

I don't see how that comment was neccessary. Each person has their own opinion about things, especially cellular phones. I hope that you are not "flaming" GUESS for his opinion and I hope that you are not serious. GUESS has been a great addition to this forum, always has good info to share and in most cases what he says he can back up because he has personally experienced it.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but I don't really care since I rarely come to this side of the forum. Bottom line is that if you want BB features then get a god darn BB, don't try to make the "always on" e-mail work on a phone that does not have it preset unless you are looking to waste a lot of time. IMO and IMO only, there are dedicated TREO, Windows Mobile, and BB users. You will rarely see a TREO person drop that device and go with a BB. Now most of the people I know have both the BB and TREO cause they can afford 2 data devices. I started out using a SAMSUNG I500 smartphone from SPCS and I used it for 2 years but I'm always ready and invite change so I started by using the 950 just to get a taste since my company was giving them out for free with service. After using it for a few months I bought the 7280,90, and 7100G that I am currently using. Since I left PALM OS I have not turned back. The only thing is that I wish there was a camera on the phone. But this world is NOT perfect and you can't have a cake and eat it too, if you do then you're in for big disappointments like the device mentioned in this forum.

Have a nice day and please play nice!

Maybe with a better implementation/power menagement it could work like a normal phone, enabling its receiver to operate at a duty cycle of less than 10% and still respond on RF requests.
Apart from that the display is very low resolution and very small. The only good feature I could find is its keyboard, because once used to it, you can type pretty fast. Being able to use it as an MP3 player might be a major fun factor versus a classic Blackberry, but its movie capability is total nonsens.
At least I was real happy to go back to my 7730 with a real display and solid long term functionality. I will soon test the MDAIII, which might be an intersting multifunctional alternative.
I only just got mine, as in Australia they are being sold extremely cheap, and im wondering how it works as an .mp3 player? i know that i can transfer .mp3 files onto the phone, however, when i try to play them as i would the other audio files on the phone, all that comes up is the file information. I had just assumed since there was no mention of .mp3 capability, this phone did not posess the ability to play .mp3 files.

is there some sort of firmware upgrade or software i can load onto the SK65 in order to allow playback of .mp3 files? even as just short clips for ringtones?

any help is greatly appreciated...

other than that, this phone is pretty damn sexy...it is limited functionality wise, but for what i paid for it ($129 Aus), i am very happy with it as an overall package

yes it is free if you have bbunlimitedjust yuse siemens mojbiles device configure go to there website and find your phone there is a configurator in it.

This phone is great for my uses i can sync everything contacts calander not ota i don't use ota caleder, tasks, i can easily use pretty much all the bb feature bb browser/mail/bbapps like verichat no problems no gripes keyboard though could use some work

pros:
full size qwerty/azt keyboards*
highly configureable
bb software including email/browser
more games supported
theme customization big plus till 4.1 is avaliable to all modern units
realtone ringtones most units except 71xxx and 8700x don't
video player
amr/wav ringtone suport (more generally accepted formats)

cons :
the t and y buttons are to close the the screen
the unit battery life could be improved
no mp3 playback
kinda hard to configure everything
low support
no voice dailing
limited ringtone to caller customization
does not come with holster (I to have been spoiled by rim)

if you look around you can find answers to any question about this device.google and bb forums can be your best friends. yes the bb software can take a little but it no differn't than rebooting you bb its much shorter actually my fully loaded 7100t can take up to 7 mins to boot.this may take up to 90 but usually about 45 secs to boot.
this phone is not for every body though everyone that has seen me with this phone does complement it innovative design and ask me where i got it. i do wish benq would pick up the ball on and support it better. seeing as it is push to the biz savy world with its bb connect software.

Default BenQ P50 and Siemens SX66 - 01-30-2006, 05:35 PM

Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but, a friend has been looking at the BenQ P50 and/or the Siemens SX66 as his next SmartPhone/PDA. I scoured all of blackberryforums and have seen nothing on either of these phones.

Here are the links:
P50 http://www.benq.com/products/mobile/p50/P50_en.htm
SX66 http://www.benqmobile.com/cds/frontd...rNrNrN,00.html

Does anyone have experience with either of these phones, and what would be the pros/cons compared to BB? At first glance, it looks like no email push on these, but aside from that, they look very impressive...
