Really? That's so strange since Nokia provides their sis files on line. I guess we have to do it how the P910 was. Someone has to get a sis file from an operator and than post it for everyone.

I emailed the PM and that's what he told me. I also found the BB Connect for the SE 910i on T-mobile's AT site. It didn't run on the M600i, it said it was an old version.

Default New firmware - 06-29-2006, 08:09 AM

So the new firmware (R3A04) is MUCH better. Solves a lot of the stupid bugs, but it's still not perfect. Far from it. But much improved.

You're right it looks like it may be available on Singtel, but T-mobile should it get soon too. I remember on the P910i, T-mobile site had a place where you can download the sis file directly. I wonder if the Singtel M600i has the sis file on the phone already installed.

Anyways, we should have someone that can post or have a place to find the BB connect from somewhere for M600.

Sorry, are you talking about Singtel in Singapore? I can't find any info on their website regarding the M600i?!

I'm not sure if it's Singapore (don't know if Singtel is only in Singapore), but if you go to the Singtel website and click on Blackberry and than Blackberry connect you will find on the bottom, "Devices supporting Blackberry Connect Solution" There you will find the M600i. However, there is no sis files so I don't know if it comes on the phone. If it does, can someone post it here

Any updates on this?

I am very tempted by the M600 (Currently on Cingular with 7100g) but I want to make sure I will be able to install BBC on it.

BTW,m600i lover how is your experience in NYC with the unit? Did you travel a little outside of the city with it, do you get a good signal?

Default Donwload Blackberry Connect M600i - 07-07-2006, 10:58 AM

You can download the software on the Swedish operator Telenor homepage.

Sis file:
telenor.se/downloads/M600_BlackBerry_V3_28.SIS
Desktop software
telenor.se/downloads/SymbianSE_BBConnect_Desktop_Setup_2%5B1%5D.1.1.12. exe

You have to put www in front of the URL. I am not allowed to post URL.

Enjoy!

Thank you.

For the second link there is an extra space before the exe, make sure you remove it if you do a copy/paste of the link (took me 30mn to figure this out).

Excuse my stupidity but how do I set up my email (perso Pop3) on the M600i?
I did download BBC but it screws up my Outlook (apparetnly because I am not on enterprise server, my email is just a regular/standalone one).

I you are using the Internet edition you don´t need to use the desktop program. You just use the sis file on the phone and choose internet edition when you configure it. Then you have to report the pin number to your carrier.

I am getting all my emails now :p

Still need to set up the wap, the rep. gave me all the settings over the phone - very ncie guy, quite helpful for once.

Default Need some help. - 07-08-2006, 05:16 AM

I have installed the BBC, i am getting a pin and an imei , but i cannot get it to connect or install a blackberry mail folder, just the sys folder.

I can usually change the device on the BIS web page, but it says it wont accept the change.

BTW i am on T-Mobile USA, i have had a 8700, Nokia 9300i and 9500 all working on this account.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I'm having the same problems on t-mobile USA as well. It was easy with the 9300. I tried with the E61, but that did not work and now the M600 does not seem to allow to work on T-mo USA. I changed to T-mo for this very reason because they seem to adopt to Unlocked phones better, but it seems like Cingular is now integrating better.

Attention Cingular User:

- Set up your email accounts on the webmail BEFORE you switch to the M600i, you will not be able to add new email addresses after the phone is registered with Cingular (I learned this the hard way).

Normally Cingular allows BB users to set up up to 10 email accounts, however once you register you M600i Cingular blocks your ability to add email addresses to the lot because "The device is not supported".

So make sure you create all your email accounts within the webmail client before the switch because after that the only way to add more email addresses would be to switch again for an "official" device, register the unit then unregister it and re-register your M600i.

I am posting quite a lot these days :p

Well, I did upgrade my M600i to the latest firmware, which obviously wiped out all previously installed soft (including BB) and since a I restarted the phone and reinstalled the BB software it is impossible to connect to BB!

Anybody has any idea how to fix that? I spoke to a Cingular tech support person and apparently I am not receiving the Service Books which are necessary fir the BB to work.

As far as I know (read it on some other forum) currently available BB client does not support new firmware - works only with the old one. So it is either a 'downgrade' or we need to wait for some final version of the software that would support the device as such not just a specific firmware version...

(I also upgraded the firmware and thus find the BB software useless).

Damn! Any way to downgrade the firmware? Or where to find an updated version of BBC that would work?

I believe it's the R3A software. I have the updated software and was on tech support with T-mobile for an hour. Still could not connect and since they don't support the phone, they said there is nothing they can do.

I thought it was T-mobile, but now maybe I'm thinking the BB sis is for the older firmware version.

Same here with Cingular.

DO NOT UPGRADE DEVICE IF USING BB Connect (at least in the US).

If someone has a version of the BBC sis file that works with the latest firmwaqre version R4A please post link.

Yeah....that's kind of dumb. Why would SE release a new firmware that does not work with the BB connect. It should be forward compatible and not backwards compatible

For me the dumb thing is that SE is not releasing the BB client directly to public but only via the operators. This shows that they do not want to take responsibility for this functionality at all.

Very glad i bought the e61. would've bought the M600i if it was out. My e61 works perfectly (almost) and is a joy to use.....but i'll eat my words as soon as i hear all the good things about it, I bet!

I too am a victim of the firmware upgrade... and indeed both Sony Ericsson and Nokia are being unbelievably stupid in MARKETING/SELLING their devices based on their ability to handle BB, and then not supporting it in the slightest (or in the case of SE, actually SABOTAGING it with new firmware releases). Why should we all have to be going to a mobile operator in Sweden to get our BB software? Crazy.

I am with outfocus. I own both the M600i (new, disappointed), and the E61 (had it a few weeks, am head over heels in love!), and the E61 is so far by far the superior device. Easier UI, better keyboard, more stable, more features. Only disappointment is the large form factor. Was hoping the M600i would compensate for that, but to date, no cigar.

Please keep us up to date on further updates of the BBC client to support the new firmware! Thanks in advance!

Anyone found the BB Connect .sis for the M600i?

Did I hear someone say a Swedish operator has it?

Can anyone locate a *.sis file for the version 3.31 (16) of the Blackbery Connect client for the M600i?

I have contacted SE customer support both in Singapore and the US. I know for sure that SE Singapore if offering to install the latest BBC in theirservice center but they will not release the download to the public.
The rep from Singapore told me that they could send it to SE USA if a service center requested it... problem is that SE USA does not have any service center :(

Does the swedish operator that jacobk posted about earlier have an update for the BBC client?

Any other lead to try and get this BBC client 3.31 (16) made available to everybody?

Is the opening of email as fast as the blackberry which is almost instant(like when opening sms) or there is a slight lag like the Nokia series.
