Hi Complete,

I'm interest by the setup on your M600i. Did you have to activate something on your mobile? Is it similar with the P910i where we need to choose BIS or BES, and launch the service? or better like the Nokia E61?

Thanks for your help

The setup installtion program for the pc requires the bes info etc top be used.
If like me you are using a service from your air time provider just install .sis file obviously to your handset, i then logged in to my tmobile web service updated by pin and imei and all was working

There was a new software for the M600 released 2 days ago by SE. Version R4A002. The sis file 3.28 filer does not work on this software either.

I talked to my swedish operator Telenor. They said a new BB software are going to be released soon. I will post it here when i get it.

Correct, you only need the pc program if you ate using Blackberry Enterprise (BES)

If you are using the Internet version (BIS) with pop3 mail with your operator you only need the sis file.

Yes you are correct, have spoken to people involved in service of SE within Europe and the 3.31 they claim is not even available to them?

I am not sure I usndertand this.

I do use BES but how can I have the software installed on my m600 via the PC Suite? At first I did try to install the PC suite on my PC but it would just create errors and my Outlook would not work anymore just I just removed it.

Can anyone please be a little more specific about how to get BES to work on the M600i via PC Suite (I have the latest SE firmware).

Yes please..................I bought this device becuase I like UIQ and BB
By the way, if someone signs up with Telenor on a new BB contract for the M600 and they go and install the new updated firmware, aren't they screwed? Has there been a lot of people complaining to Telenor? I'm guessing in their store they advertise it and people have bought the M600 thinking it is BB connect ready.

You just have to check for new updates - I do it most days at this early stage in the products life - once you have working with all the features you want there is no need to keep checking

I do understand that, I just got confused about the PC Suite (For SE) and the BB Suite to install on my computer. AS the first one allows me to install the *sis file on my phone but I did not know what the second one was for (still don't).

BES Version:
1. Install PC-suite. Get it to work with outlook.
2. Install .sis file on phone.
3. Start BB software on phone. Choose BES version
3. Install .exe bb suit software on pc. Use the program to activate your account against you BES-server

BIS Version
1. Install .sis file on phone.
2. Start BB software on phone. Choose Internet version

Default Blackberry Connect with UIQ - 07-24-2006, 10:08 AM

Hi,

My BB Connect (3.28) works with my UIQ (R1B01) but I find it extremely slow.

Is it normal ? 4 seconds to open a mail ? it takes half a second with the 8700

Thanks,

Jerome

Hey guys just found the latest version of BB Connect for the M600i off the Indosat website. Unfortunately I can't put the URL up here because I don't have more than 10 posts, so someone who can, PM me and I'll send it to you to put up here.

The zip contains both versions, for phones with R1A and R3A. I have the latest firmware and it works great on Orange France.

The only thing I am confused about is how do you go on the web when it's connected to BB. It seems to give me can't find page errors. Does anyone have any experience from the older version?

Have fun!

I can confirm that it is working on the latest firmware - using Cingular Wireless in the US ($29.99 plan unlimited data).

I now have BBI working and sending all my hotmail + 2 pro addresses to my 600i, speed is a lot better than the regular email accounts you can set up on the device, almost as quick as a BB device.

Only thing for which I have not found a solution yet is that it displays emails from the first to last recevied... anyone knows of a way to have the latest email received on top of the page and not at the bottom (which can be very annoying when you ahve 100 emails and need to scroll down dozen of pages to get to the new ones).

Thank you Dimitrik (People can find his link on esato) or go to this address (M600i product page and look at the menu on the right hand side, ther is a zip file for BBC): BlackBerry

Default M600i Blackberry SIS file - 07-28-2006, 05:56 PM

Blackberry.SIS.HERE

Go to the Blackberry Connected column on the right side of the page. Under Sony Ericsson M600I the Blackberry.SIS file is listed. Click to download the Zip file and you get the old client (R1 version) and the new client (R3 version). I haven't tried it yet but the new client is supposed to support the latest M600I firmware R4A...

Nice Find Dimitrik! Good luck!

Well, the BB sis file installed ok. I registered but could not change my handheld on T-mobile USA. So I think the software is legit. I'm just wondering if T-mo is starting to block people from using unlocked devices. I changed from Cingular to T-mo because of this and now it seems like Cingular is the one that is able to connect on unlocked devices whereas t-mo is more difficult.

Did you just click on "registration" within the software or did you call T-Mobile to give them the PIN # for the M600i?
You need to either call or login your blackberry account online to active your PIN#.

I have mine working on Cingular - over the phone the rep changed my plan from a 4mb BB plan to an unlimited data plan (Don't ask me why, I do not understand espceially since the unlimited data is $5 less) and it is now working flawlessly, well except for some problem with some emails and formatting.

Yeah I did all that. It says I'm registered and connected, but T-mobile won't let me change my pin. This happened with my E61, while on Cingular ( I gave the device to my brother) there was no problems registering the device.

BBConnect on M600i will work on any of the UK networks, as long as your SIM card is enabled for BB data plan. Don't expect support from the networks until they start selling it though!

It will also work for either BES or BIS. The BB Connect desktop tool will get you running on your BES. To get working on BIS, just change the PIN/IMEI on your webclient.

Unfortunately phone didnt arrive so still wasting to test, should be here wednesday.

So far all ive been able to get access to is the 3.28 file and the SymbianSE_BBConnect Setup 2.1.1.12 setup program.

If anyone needs access to the setup let me know.
I'd like to try (although I am worried that any change I make will make my phone stop working entirely). Currently, I am on T-Mobile USA with the M600i (which T-Mobile will not support) and I have ActiveSync Exchange installed but obviously not working. Everything else is perfect. I upgraded the firmware though.

Tested today a M600 with the latest software and used version 3.31 of blackberry sis file and it worked perfectly. Like the others I could not make version 2.28 work with the new software in the phone, but with version 3.31 there was no problem.

Thanks Dover

I'm on Vodafone and the webclient won't recognise the PIN/IMEI number associated with my M600i.

Customer services told me that it's because they're not supporting the M600i.

So I was looking for the best network to switch to.

JP03 - the t-mobile web client said this for me too, until........

Go to Blackberry under Tools

Click on More

Click on Provision, select Blackberry Internet Service

Go to More

Click on Register Now....

The phone then sends some kind of message to the BIS server, then it would allow me to register/change my handset to the m600i PIN and IMEI number.

Shortly afterwards I got a message from Activation Server telling me my handset was set up for BIS.

I'm sure it must be the same for Vodafone?

I tried that on my M600 with T-mobile USA and it still says "handheld change failed. unknown error" This after I got a message saying that my registration was successful on my phone.

I have been using T-Mobile webclient, and it has worked fine. Can't say about the others....

One tip - make sure you send the WAP Internet settings to your phone from the Sony Ericsson website, as it will help you get the best out of the browser, which is GREAT on this phone.

Thanks Dover & Joe

I have registered OK with the Blackberry service, but then still can't change the handheld on the webclient. I think Vodafone are deliberately blocking non-RIM IMEI numbers.

I had a look at the webclients of Orange and t-mobile and tried to set up the PIN and IMEI as a new client - same error message. But the webclient of O2allowed me to begin the process of setting up a new account with the PIN and IMEI generated by the BIS Connect software on my M600i.

So I'm off to O2 as I'm out of contract at the moment.

Agree re browser!

I think they are doing the same for T-mobile USA.
