Default Pairing Bluetooth Headset - 02-27-2005, 09:30 AM

I cannot get my bluetooth headset to pair at all. It is a Motorola HS820. I enable the bluetooth on my 7100g and then try to add device but it tells me there are no devices in range or available. Everything is on and I never had a problem syncing this headset with my old V600. If anyone can offer any advice it will be much appreciated.

Make sure to put the headset in pairing mode before you search for it. The instructions on how to do that should have come with the headset.

Also, if you can do me a favor after you get it working. See if call waiting works properly just using the headset. What I mean is if you are on a call using the headset, and another call comes in, see if you can switch to the other call using the headset without touching the phone. Let me know how that works....I would really appreciate it. :D

Good luck in getting that all working.

Thanks for the help. I never had to do all that on the V600.

As for the call waiting switch. You can switch but you lose the other call. You hit it one time and it closes the current call and one more time to answer the incoming call. I guess the answer is yes as long as you are hanging up on the current call.

Try this: Press and hold the button on the headset for longer than one second when the new call comes in. It should then change over to the new one without dropping the old one. Then switching back should be the same process. Let me know if that works.

I'll try it tomorrow and see what happens. I love this headseat. The only issue is slightly low volume on the incoming call. Other than that, it is a great headset.

Ok....let me know what happens. I have a HS850, so it's good to know that it will work with the 7100g. :D

Also, I thought I would mention that Motorola makes a nice little connector you may want to purchase:

Charger Adapter CH706 - SKN6185A

This allows you to charge your headset from the same mini-USB connector you charge your Blackberry from. You can also charge both the phone and the headset at the same time using only the single Blackberry charger. The only thing is they recommend against using this connector when you are charging from the USB port of your computer. This means one less charger to bring along when you travel.

(of course they do not make this for Blackberry specifically, but for the Razr which also uses a mini-USB connector)
