E61 BB Connect Problem (Desktop Connect not connecting)
Could anyone out there please tell me how to connect the connect desktop client to the E61 handset?
I downloaded connect desktop from the Nokia website. I have PC Suite 6.8 working. The PC Suite connects to the handset very easily.
But when I click connect on the Connect Desktop, it doesn't work. It says "unable to connect to handset".
Any help would be greatly appreciated? I am ready to throw this E61 out after all these problems.
T-mobile usa keeps telling me they can't help. They have put me on the BES plan.

I was trying with old 9300 desktop manager code for BBC and the code off this site did work with e61
Is there a specific code i should be looking for. i went to the site and its basically just a bunch of downloands? Where do i enter the code etc.
Are you using the USB cable? It's the only way to connect.
Also, make sure to download the S60v3 versin of the software from the Nokia for business site. S60_Blackberry(6.18.0)_3.sis
At the bottom left of the application, there is a button 'connect'
I am using TMO-US, BES, E61, and it works fine.

I am using the unicode version and also using the USB cable to connect. The version i have is the version from that website, i.e v3.sis from 18.6.0
I shut down the firewall and antivirus on my computer as well but no luck.
Did you set-up anything special with blackberry connect? I only turned the service on. The host routing was also correct.

I am using the Unicode version for the PC Version 188.8.131.52
I did not do anything special to connect. Executed the app, plugged the E-61 (the E_61 select box opens, and I select PC Suite), then the button 'Connect' becomes available on the app.
I did remove all traces of Previous Blackberry Desktop & Client prior to installing the Nokia version of the Desktop.
Also, the first time u execute the BB Desktop, it checks for your Ms Exchange account provisioning for BES service.
If you do not have a BES account, you have no use for the Desktop app.
Download the installation guide for T-Mobile from the Nokia for business. It details installation for both BES & BIS setups.
I got the set-up like you said but still no luck. i think i may need to try another computer or something. It feels as if my computer is blocking the software.
One of the things it says in the T-mobile instruction guide is to go to the APN wizard and select the type of solution.
Can you tell me how to get to the APN Wizard for E61?
so if i get the nokia e61 i must download and install "Nokia S60 BlackBerry Connect" AND "BlackBerry Connect Desktop ???" i'm not running BES i would be running TMobiles BIS services.
Cannot Connect to BES Server for Domino ???
OK - I received my E61 yesterday and what a nice device it seems to be. Especially like the screen. But do wish the numeric phone pad followed the same convention as a std phone, but thats a small gripe.
My problem is I cannot connect it to the Blackberry Enterprise Server, here's where I'm at:
The phone had an InstallBB.sis on it. So I installed it and this was fine. Have also set the BB service to "ON" and configured the "auto-connect" options.
I then logged on to our BES server and added my user accout from the Domino Directory, I added me to the BB Users Group and added our "BB User Software Config"
I then set up the options to sync PIM data via my mail file from the Home Domino server.
Finally I set an Activation Password.
In the BB Manger console you can see the account is initializing.
Now - if I was using an 8700g I would simply go to the option for "Enterprise Activation" on the device click activate. Enter the password, my mail address and the word "Blackberry" and away we go
But there is no such Enterprise Activation on the Nokia as far as I can see.
So I tried to use the software "Blackberry Connect Desktop for Nokia" (comes on the CD with the device).
This starts up and prompts me for the Notes password for my location etc and allows me to specify the server name. When I click OK it thinks for a bit and then comes back with "The Blackberry Server is either unavailable or has been specified incorrectly. Your Notes account may also not be configured on the Blackberry Server"
OF COURSE ITS NOT CONFIGURED - THE USER PROFILE IS STUCK AT INITIALISING.
The BES Profile and State DB do not get created on Domino until the phone has been activated to the BES Server.
Can anyone help Me Pretty Please......
I should add that so far I have only connected the phone to the PC Via Bluetooth, should I be using the USB cable.
