Default How do I activate Blackberry service on E61 (T-Mobile) - 08-03-2006, 01:19 PM

Hi,

I just purchased a E61. I live in Philadelphia, and have T-Mobile as my service provider. My one year service plan is up for renewal. I purchased the E61 from Singapore, thus it is independent of any T-Mobile contract.

I am currently in India for 1-2 weeks and want to know how to set up Blackberry service.

A couple of questions:

1) Does T-Mobile offer the best Blackberry service, or should I change carriers to Cingular?

2) In case I stay with T-Mobile is there any way I can call them up and set up Blackberry service via the phone?

3) Do you know if T-Mobile or any other carrier has international service, i.e. international Blackberry connectivity

I am currently a MBA student, so basically need the phone for voice calls and to check my college email for which I use outlook on my laptop, and surf the web ocassionally while on the move.

Thanks a lot.

RJ

T-Mo has international service but i never had good expe with them everytime I came to India.. first of all you will have to add the international package for 19.99 on top of the existing BB plan .

They couple they service with Airtel so if it works you are lucky.. also funnny part is that if tmo will give you the direct # 505-998-3793 that they ask you to call in case of problems.. but when you make a call it keeps saying that please dial '0' and that takes to one of the local providers and the local provider is clueless why the call went to them instead of Tmo. I lost about 50 bucks in these 0 calls but no luck. best option could be to conf in with a friend who could be in US and then get the thing taken care off..
I travelled with the same Bb to Mexico and no problems..
good luck
