Default Need help setting up my BB7290 with Lotus & personal ema - 03-04-2005, 08:32 AM

Okay I now have a Blackberry. The tech guys set it up so that it synchronizes with my email at work. We use Lotus Notes. I would also like to set up my personal email (cox.net and yahoo.com) accounts with my BB. Is this possible since I sync with Lotus Notes for work? and if so what do I do? When I open the BB desktop manager all I see are 4 icons (Application Loader, Backup and Restore, Intellisync and Redirector Settings.

Default BES + Web Client Mail - 03-07-2005, 03:20 AM

That's how I have my BlackBerry setup. Basically you need to log into your vendor's BlackBerry Web Client, and send a new service book to your BlackBerry. What vendor do you have?

that wont work as your company have set a security policy thats why you only have 4 icons. it is not possible to use the web mail and BES together as they will conflict with the service books it can only use one at a time.

I'm soon to enter into the same issue as soon as my BES account gets finalized.

Can't you redirect your personal email to your Notes account, and view them in Notes?

sorry neo, your wrong.
I only have the 4 icons(he's talking about desktop manager), I also am synced up with locust croaks from work via BES, but I also get my other 3 e-mail accounts sent by going to the web site as suggested and setting it up there.

This is exactly the question that I have. I was set up at work via BES to receive my Lotus Notes -- and I was successfully receiving them. Then I set up my email on the BB web client. At that point, I stopped receiving my work Lotus Notes on my BB. I tried to follow the instructions on the BB web client to add my LN email account, but it says that the software must be downloaded onto a computer that is attached to the corporate network and is running 24x7. I have a laptop that is not connected to the corporate network all the time.

Can someone explain how I can do the setup to receive BOTH my corporate LN and my personal email via the BB web client? I have a 7290 from Cingular.

Thank you!

I have seen this but never tried it.

If you are on BES I think as long as the IT policy doesn't prevent it, and it might, then you should be able to use the BWC also. Ask your IT first what their policy is, and if it's no, then the app above could foward your mail to your work address and then with 4.0 you might be able to use filters.

I am pretty sure I have read others on this board have both their work and personal email.
