usng blackberry client on N9300i. Had BES issue a password to "test" locking the phone. BES issued an alpha password. Big mistake !

Now when phone is switched on it asks for normal sim pin which is accepted. Phone remains locked. It allows in coming calls but all other functions are prohibited.

I get prompted for a password by pressing unloack, however password field is a numeric only field.

Short of doing a hard reset, and loss everything on the phone, any ideas as to how to change input field to allow alpha characters ?

I tried issuing a new numeric password but phone remains locked, so I assume alpha password issued from BES remains in force

Maybe connect your comp and clear device

Hi tried that. Comp smarter than me it knows phone is locked,comp doesn't pick up phone is connected so can't access it
